This is just 1 of 5 calls for service yesterday. AVFD was dispatched at 12:48PM for a vehicle accident with injuries. Allen Engine 3 and Allen Heavy Rescue 11 responded. Upon arrival, personnel found a 2 vehicle accident with heavy damage. Highway 601 was shut down at Fairbluff Rd. One occupant was entrapped in the vehicle and was safely extricated. All patients treated and transported by Cabarrus County EMS. We are very fortunate to have the staffing and a great volunteer response to be able to handle these incidents promptly and efficiently.
